Ten projects from NHS organisations across Nottinghamshire have been chosen to showcase their innovations at a national healthcare EXPO event being held in London on 9th and 10th March.
More than 10,000 delegates from across healthcare, education, industry and the voluntary sector are expected to attend the largest public sector health and social care event in Europe at the Excel Centre in London. There will be over 150 seminars to attend, 250 exhibitors and 100 inspirational guest speakers - including the Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley and the NHS Chief Executive, David Nicholson. The focus of the event is on high impact innovations to improve patient care and productivity and for innovative practices to be shared to encourage widespread adoption across the healthcare system.
The Nottinghamshire NHS projects will form part of the wide variety of innovations from NHS organisations in the East Midlands that demonstrate where frontline health care staff have had the opportunity to turn their ideas for quality improvement into reality.
Over fifty East Midlands innovators will be promoting and sharing their innovative projects at the event through a dedicated ‘Learning Café’ seminar, a Telehealth seminar, a Regional Innovation Fund (RIF) Zone and an exhibition stand. The projects cover a number of healthcare priority areas including supporting long term conditions, mental health and wellbeing and making services safer.
One Nottinghamshire based initiative that will be showcased in the Telehealth Seminar is the IGNITE Telehealth Hub. This project is a technology based approach to monitoring patients with long term conditions in order to help prevent avoidable deterioration of their health and reduce hospital admissions.
