Privacy statement

This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for www.eastmidlands.nhs.uk . It applies solely to this website.

This page explains how East Midlands Strategic Health Authority uses any information you give to us, and the way we protect your privacy. Protecting the privacy and personal data of the visitors to our site is of the utmost importance to us.

Information collection and use

This shall be treated as proprietary and confidential. It may be used for internal review and to notify you about updates to this website Information which you send to us through this website will be treated as follows:

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Site usage

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive while they are visiting a particular website. It contains simple information about the user's identity but no personal information. When the user closes their browser, the cookie is destroyed. We do not use cookies for collecting user information. Log files allow us to record visitors' use of the site to enable us to enhance the future layout of the site. The data we gather in this way does not contain any personal information or information about which other sites you have visited.

If you provide feedback on our web site we will only use it to develop and improve the site. We will keep the actual feedback for six months after which it will be deleted but analysis of feedback may be kept.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect and how we use it

Our organisation is committed to complying with the Disability Discrimination Act and as such, have made many improvements to our website in order to reduce the barriers experienced by people with disabilities. With reference to Central Government guidelines, our policy is to create pages to W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Priority 2 level.

Resizing text

If you find the text is too small on our web site, then you can resize it accordingly. Instructions for doing this are given for most major browsers below:

Internet Explorer 4:
choose View>Internet Options…>Accessibility… and check the ignore font sizes specified on web pages option. Click OK, OK, and then you can alter the text size using the View>Text Size option

Internet Explorer (version 5 and later):
choose Tools>Internet Options…>Accessibility… and check the ignore font sizes specified on web pages option. Click OK, OK, and then you can alter the text size using the View>Text Size option.

All other browsers should be able to resize the text directly from the menu bar. Please see your specific browser help pages if you are having difficulty.

Low graphics pages

Although not strictly text-only, these pages are quicker loading and useful if you do not need the images or if you are on a slow connection.

Downloadable documents

Where possible we try to provide downloadable documents in formats such as PDF or Microsoft Word. 

If you have difficulties obtaining information from a pdf file you can use Adobe’s Web-based conversion service to produce a HTML version (however, please be aware that the standard of HTML produced is not perfect).
