• Please advise on the steps we need to take if we wish to be considered to provide a free clearance service for all your waste electronic and electrical equipment?

Thank you for your letter to Kevin Orford. Your letter has been assessed as falling within the remit of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIRs).

I can confirm in accordance with the EIRs, that we do not hold all of the information that you have requested.  However, I will address each of your concerns in turn:

What does your organisation currently do with its waste electronic or electrical equipment?

• We have an arrangement with Derbyshire Health Informatics Service for them to dispose of the majority of the electrical equipment we have which is in the form of computers, laptops and screens. We have no formal tender in place for this.  For the small amount of mobile phones the organisation disposes of we use ShP Ltd (http://shplimited.co.uk/).

Does your organisation pay to dispose of this equipment?  If so how much is it per anum?

• No.  We have Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Derbyshire Health Informatics Service for the disposal of these itemsand we receive income for the disposal of the mobile phones.

Is the disposal of your waste electronic/electrical equipment governed by a contract ?  If so when does the contract period come up for renewal?

• No.  We have an SLA with Derbyshire Health Informatics Service.  We do not have a formal agreement with SHP Ltd. Other electrical equipment which fails such as fridges for example, are disposed of through ad hoc arrangements using appropriate disposal companieswho are licensed waste carriers.

Please advise on the steps we need to take if we wish to be considered to provide a free clearance service for all your waste electronic and electrical equipment?

• You would need to contact the Derbyshire Health Informatics Service for information in terms of the provision of these services.We would be looking to companies who could provide income to the organisation for the disposal of electrical equipment if possible.
