We’re working with Mumsnet and Astra Zeneca to raise awareness about the spreading and impact of child flu.
Would you be able to provide me with the following statistics, for your SHA, for the 2009/2010 flu season:
· The number of seasonal influenza cases in those under the age of 18
· The number of hospitailisatons from seasonal influenza in those under the age of 18
· The number of deaths from seasonal influenza in those under the age of 18
· The number of individuals under the age of 18 vaccinated against seasonal influenza
· How much was spent on seasonal influenza vaccines for children under the age of 18?

I refer to your email requesting information in respect of child flu statistics.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold the information that you have requested.
However, I am advised that local Primary Care Trust cluster organisations submit detailed data to the Department of Health, who in turn, provide various analysis. I am not aware that either organisation provides this information by specific age groups.
