Water Fluoridation

Request

I have been trying to ascertain whether Fluoride is present in my drinking water.  I was surprised to find that Severn Trent did not know.  They said that they only added  [stuff]  to the water when instructed to do so by Derbyshire County Council.  Do you know?

Our response

I refer to your email requesting information in respect of water fluoridation.

After considering the substance of your request it has been assessed as falling within the ambit of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (the ‘Regulations’).

I am unable to respond to you in terms of information held by NHS East Midlands as your postal address was not included within your request.  However, the information that you have requested should be available via the Severn Trent Water website at the link below.   You will need to input your post code into the search box and the results will provide you with a set of measurements of chemicals in the water in your locality which include fluoride.
