I refer to your email requesting information in respect of the supply of fluoridated water.

After considering the substance of your request it has been assessed as falling within the ambit of the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (the ‘Regulations’). 

I am able to advise you that NHS East Midlands does not hold the information requested in terms of all water companies .  However, I am able to provide you with the information relating to the locality covered by the NHS East Midlands.  You might remember that we have previously provided you with the information which I am reproducing below

All water companies supplying fluoridated water

• Severn Trent supplies approximately 310,000 people residing within Nottinghamshire PCT, Derbyshire County PCT and Bassetlaw PCT geographical areas.  Anglian Water supplies predominantly communities in Lincolnshire PCT area.  The actual fluoridated geographical coverage is based upon the water distribution system served by particular plants which do not mirror ward or local authority , As far as it is possible to state, Bolsover,  Ashfield, Mansfield, Bassetlaw and North Lincolnshire are the geographical areas predominantly covered.

• NHS East Midlands does not hold this information due to organisational changes that have occurred during this timeframe.   However, we would estimate that fluoridation on these sites has been carried out for between 20 & 30 years.
