I am writing to you with a request to be answered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please give me details of the public health spending for the Strategic Health Authority area for the financial years 2009-10 and 2010-11.
Ideally I would like this presented separated for both years:
*First as a figure for the whole SHA, including a total and a breakdown into spending on health improvement, health protection, and health-care service planning and commissioning.
*Secondly as a PCT-by-PCT breakdown with explanatory details for any spending which is not covered by individual PCTs.
*Thirdly, if it is available, public-health spending as reflected by local authority area.
Any further breakdowns of the spending would be appreciated – particularly with relation to informatics and public health observatories.
I understand that you were required to supply the Department of Health with this data earlier this year, and it may be the case that all of this information is contained in your response to that demand.

I refer to your email requesting information in respect of NHS East Midlands spend on public health.
I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold all of the information that you have requested in terms of the breakdown you require.
The total Public Health Expenditure for 2009-2010 was £1,715k. The total Public Health Expenditure for 2010-2011 can be found on page 45 of the SHA Annual Accounts via our website at the following link:
