Staff Performance Bonus and Retention of Recruitment Payments

Please could you provide me with a breakdown of the performance bonus and retention of recruitment payments which have been made to senior members of your organisation at executive level, to include the following posts;

1)     Director
2)     Deputy Director
3)     Assistant Director

I would like the figures to include;

1)     Cash figures
2)     Percentages

I would also like the figures to be broken down for;

1)     2006
2)     2007
3)     2008
4)     2009
5)     Any payments made in this financial year.

Our Response

I refer to your email requesting information in respect of NHS East Midlands staff performance bonus and retention of recruitment payments at Director, Deputy Director and Assistant Director level.

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we do not hold all of the information that you have requested.  NHS East Midlands staff at Deputy or Assistant Director levels do not receive performance related bonus payments and there are no staff members within these two designations that receive retention of recruitment payments.

We are of the opinion that the exemption under Section 21 of the FOIA is available to us in this instance.  Section 21 relates to information that is already reasonably accessible to the applicant.  Details of all performance-related bonuses and retention of recruitment payments for Executive Directors at NHS East Midlands for the following periods:

·         2006/2007
·         2007/2008
·         2008/2009
