Under the Freedom of Information Act, could you please provide information, relating to your IT Department, as follows:

1  What is the name & official title of the Director responsible for Information Technology deployments?
2  What is the name & official title of the person responsible for defining your Data, Voice, Video and Conferencing requirements?

What VoIP projects have been identified within the next 12 months?

How many connected users do you have and how many sites are these users distributed over?

9  What software based solutions are you considering for future voice requirements?

10 How much are you paying for Bandwidth provision per annum and with which provider?

11 Who is your primary Data Network (LAN/WAN) vendor?

12  Do you plan to refresh your Data Network in the next 12 months?

13  What is the value of your support contract for your Data Network and when is the renewal date?

14  Have you any plans to deploy Wireless LAN or a Contact Centre within your current infrastructure?

15  When is the support contact renewal date for your managed Firewalls for security?

16  If you outsource audio conferencing to a 3rd Party, what is your monthly cost incurred?

Our Response

I refer to your email requesting information relating to our IT Department.  I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) that we hold most of the information that you have requested.  I will address each of your points in turn:

1 What is the name & official title of the Director responsible for Information Technology deployments?

  • Dave Marsden – Director of Strategic IM&T

2 What is the name & official title of the person responsible for defining your Data, Voice, Video and Conferencing requirements?

  • Data                   John Clarke – Deputy Director of Strategic IM&T

  • Voice                 John Clarke – Deputy Director of Strategic IM&T

  • Video                 John Clarke – Deputy Director of Strategic IM&T

  • Conferencing  John Clarke – Deputy Director of Strategic IM&T

  • There are no plans to rationalise buildings at this time

4 What is your Unified Communications Strategy?

  • We do not have this strategy

5 If you have a separate PBX (Traditional Voice) network, what is your strategy to replace it?

  • We do not have a separate PBX (Traditional Voice) network

6 How much are you paying for moves, adds & changes to your telephony system on a monthly basis?

  • £2,477.23 

7 What VoIP projects have been identified within the next 12 months?  

  • None

8 How many connected users do you have and how many sites are these users distributed over?

  • 271 telephone handsets

  • 11 N3 Voice mobility accounts

  • 12 Voicemail boxes

  • 70 multiple directory numbers on one site

9 What software based solutions are you considering for future voice requirements?

  • None

10 How much are you paying for Bandwidth provision per annum and with which provider?

  • British Telecom provide this provision through  DHIS ( local NHS IT provider )


11 Who is your primary Data Network (LAN/WAN) vendor?

  • British Telecom – COIN ( part of the Derbyshire Community of Interest Network)

12  Do you plan to refresh your Data Network in the next 12 months?

  • Not in this client supported area

13 What is the value of your support contract for your Data Network and when is the renewal date?

  • DHIS ( local NHS IT provider ) network support charge on WAN / LAN is £5930 per annum including overheads

14 Have you any plans to deploy Wireless LAN or a Contact Centre within your current infrastructure?

  • No

15 When is the support contact renewal date for your managed Firewalls for security?

  • December 2011

16 If you outsource audio conferencing to a 3rd Party, what is your monthly cost incurred?

  • Audio Conferencing is currently being installed by British Telecom
