Our Response

I refer to your email requesting information regarding NHS East Midlands spend off certain staff designations.

I can confirm in accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 that we do hold the information that you have requested which I have included in the attached pdf document.

Please note that the information that we have provided is inclusive of staff based at NHS East Midlands, East Midlands Healthcare Workforce Deanery and teams hosted by NHS East Midlands on behalf of the Department of Health which are:-

  • NHS Improvement; and
  • Children and Adult Mental Health Services

The terms Manager and Senior Manager are based on the definitions set out in the Agenda for Change framework.

You will also note that we have disguised the numbers of staff whose basic pay is more than £100k under Section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.  This is an absolute exemption relating to Personal Information as these numbers relate to less than 5 members of staff in line with the current guidance available to us on the use of small number data. The purpose of section 40 of the Act is to protect personally identifiable information and the privacy of living persons.

I do hope that this information is of use to you.  If you are dissatisfied with the way in which we have dealt with your request you can ask us to review our decision in this case by writing to:-
