I am doing some
work experience research on air ambulances and I am looking for
some more details regarding national policy and plans for major
trauma centres, where they will be located, and how many in each
region etc. I have read the implementation plans published recently
so I know this is a work in progress, but any further information
you can give me would be much appreciated (I understand you will
probably only have information with regard to your SHA region but I
ask about national plans in case you have access to those
too)

I refer to your
email asking for information in respect of Trauma
Centres.
I can confirm in
accordance with S.1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 that
we do hold some of the information that you have
requested.
NHS East Midlands
is currently working through options around trauma services for the
future that will lead to plans being developed for a major trauma
centre in the East
Midlands. The attached pdf briefing document provides more
detail on this.
